Early Education
Education-based child care at 4 sites serving students 2.9 to 6 years old.
Hours of operation: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Volunteer Opportunities may include:
Working with small groups of students or 1:1
Performing read-alouds
Assisting teachers with prepping of teaching materials
Out of School Time
After school programming offered at 2 sites for students 6 to 12 years old.
Working with small groups of students or 1:1 for homework help or targeted instruction.
Leading a longer term project with a group of students (performance, science exploration, writing project).
College Connections
Intervention and alternative education program for youth and young adults offered at multiple sites for students 14 – 27 years old.
Middle School:
Hours of operation: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Off Track High School:
Hours of operation: 2:00pm – 4:30pm on site at partner high schools
Art A La Carte Hours of operation: Saturdays 9:00am – 5:00pm and some weekday classes/events.
Drop Out/Push Out:
Hours of operation: 9:00am – 2:00pm
ESOL:
Hours of operation: Day classes; 8:15am – 2:15pm Evening classes; 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Volunteer Opportunities in all tracks of programming may include:
1:1 and small group tutoring
Leading or assisting with social development groups
Mentoring
Assisting with recruitment and enrollment efforts
Leading an experience-based field study in the community
General Opportunities
In addition to program-specific volunteer opportunities, there are other tasks or projects volunteers can support with regard to physical plant and administrative tasks.
Hours of Operation: These hours can also vary. Administrative offices are open between 8:00am and 6:00pm; however, hours can be arranged outside of these hours including weekends.
Volunteer Opportunities may include:
Facility improvements (painting, landscaping, minor repairs of furniture and equipment)
Data entry, filing, covering front desk (answering phones, greeting visitors)
