Through high-quality English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instruction, the Adult Education program equips English language learners with the skills needed to successfully navigate different systems and services and to serve as advocates for their families. Through four levels of ESOL instruction, students gain the English language proficiency required to take next steps academically, such as obtaining high school credentials through Adult Basic Education courses and to transition to college. During the 2011 fiscal year, 52% of ESOL students transitioned to the next level.
