Early Education

Administrative Volunteer
Volunteers work with Early Education Program Managers in an administrative capacity. Responsibilities include: payroll assistance, child attendance and monitoring and follow-up, data entry and other duties as assigned. Hours: 10:00-2:00pm. 8-20 hours per week

Program Volunteer
Volunteers interact with and assist 3-5 year olds in activities and games. Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm


Out of School Time

Volunteers provide homework help, assistance on projects in art, science or computer skills and accompany children ages 6-13 years old on field trips. Hours: weekly between the hours of 2:00-6:00pm
 

Adolescent Development

Program Tutor
Tutors provide homework help for youth ages 11-18 on various academic subjects. Hours: 5:00-10:00pm

Coach
Coaches provide youth ages 11-18 with different sports including hockey, basketball and football. Hours: 5:00-10:00pm

Activity Teacher
Volunteers teach classes for youth ages 11-18 on various enrichment activities. Examples include origami, public speaking, knitting and chess. Hours: 5:00-10:00pm

Guest Speaker
Guest speakers will speak about their education and career path while offering insights and encouragement to students. Hours: Two hours for a one-time engagement between the hours of 5:00-10:00pm
 

Alternative Education

Program Tutor/ Alternative Middle School
Volunteers will tutor middle school students in Math and Science and provide one-on-one mentoring to students. Hours: 9:00am-2:00pm

Program Tutor/ College Prep
Tutors will assist students in college preparatory exams. Hours: 1:00-3:00pm

Teacher's Aide/ College Prep
Volunteers will help as needed and assist students in Math and English. Hours: 9:00am-1:00pm
 

Adult Education

ESOL Volunteer
Volunteers meet with ESOL students for one-on-one conversations and hold conservation groups with multiple students. An ideal volunteer would have experience teaching ESOL, creating lessons plans and have knowledge of immigrant issues. Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 12:00-1:00pm

Program Volunteer
Volunteers provide one on one tutoring in reading, writing or math for students 16 years old or over. An ideal volunteer would have knowledge of Adult Basic Education and pre-GED courses, especially math, and the ability to convey ideas creatively. Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am-12:30pm
